Matched Sets of Spools & Sleeves

Actions Taken:

• Within days of visiting Rable Machine they sent us some drawings to quote.
• The parts were very complex and required special tooling and special gaging in order to hold very tight tolerances.
• We had manufactured many spool and sleeve assemblies with various types of material but not with such tight tolerances.
• Tolerances. The process was very complex and included machining the parts, initial honing & grinding, heat treat, final honing & grinding and a matching process to complete each assembly.
• Our team worked very hard from the initial engineering through machining, our honing and grinding experts and finally measuring and matching each set.

Results:

• The customer was very happy with the initial run of parts.
• Since that initial order we have added another (5) different spool and sleeve sets as well as many other parts.
• We run many different parts and assemblies for this customer, including new product proto-types.
• We have been running parts for this customer for several years without a single rejection.
