Design For Manufacturability Assistance

Actions Taken:
Drawing on our deep experience with these types of parts, we reviewed their design and made recommendations one sizes for the O.D. of the spool and the I.D. of the sleeve as well as the tolerances that would be required. We also were able to provide guidance and recommendations on the material used and the heat treat requirements that would be required for the application.

Results:

• The prototypes were delivered on time and on-budget
• Our DFM assistance ensured the project was using the right material, the O.D & I.D. specifications and the correct tolerances...a mistake in any of these areas would have de-railed the project.
• Lessons learned in the prototyping stage helped refine the production process which was successfully launched without incident.
